It's interesting to me how we started playing with tubular steel before plywood. Plywood although industrial is still wood and one would imagine that we would start molding and bending wood before metal, but that was not the case. Marcel Breuer was bending tubular steel in the 1920s and the Eames couple was bending and molding plywood in the 1940s.
