Emerald green winter room
I was drawn to this room for its deep emerald green and it's high contrast with Red. These Christmas colors happen to be my favorite pair of colors, and I have often avoided them to beat the Christmas color allegations, but after looking closer, I noticed how the side table and the molding are also paired with the door. Suddenly, the mustard yellow of the chair cushion and the bright wood of the armoire follows. I'm drawn to the small painting above the chair, the drawings framed on both sides of the wall do not interest me because at first glance, I already know what they are. Once I realized it's a bedroom. I wonder why most of the bed is cut out, maybe the room is rather small. I also noticed how staged this room must be with its vintage ice-skating hanging on the door as if just used and what I believe is croquet as well as a net. The last thing I notice is how the ceiling is kept a mystery through painting what's left of the walls white, I would like to understand the ceiling is and why the paint would stop at a certain height.
These analyses are aiming to take a raw face value look at interiors that capture my eye and in an effort to revisit them once I learn what they're about, but in this case since this is the first example, I love this image so much I ended up finding out where it came from and so I'm pretty surprised by the level of what I believe to be is staging. Because the way this home was reviewed to me was as a famous painter who spent 14 years redoing his French country house. Maybe he wanted it to look like a painting. In other images of his workspace not only is the room also a deep green (not quite the same color) but his paintings also have the background of a deep green color, which I find very interesting because it's such a lovely color and I am very drawn to it but many people find it's too strong and that is why I really appreciate this room because it's commitment to the color has actually shaped the space around it in the colors involved making it work quite well. I'm not sure how having a red door must feel have especially with a red stripe at the bottom, but I liked the attempt. I appreciate it. I also deeply appreciate the bright wood or armoire as it gives some more grounding to the space because at first glance, this may seem like a painting.
